In comparison with other ancient capitals in South East Asia, Hue city is the one that still preserves comparatively the intact appearance of a complex of the monarchic capital consisting of walls, palaces, royal tomb, etc. The Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) had it urbanized and built in systematic, philosophical and abundantly artistic ways.

  •  Dragon boat trip on Perfume River: Hue Dragon Boats are long-tailed and colorful boats, mostly shaped like dragons, which travel on the Perfume River. A great part of Hue's appeal lies in its river life, with its many houseboats, sampans, and these awesome Dragon Boats.

  • Thien Mu Pagoda: Located beside the picturesque Huong River, Thien Mu Pagoda, with its ancient architecture, adds its charm to this beautiful natural setting.  Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hue, was established in relation to the early actions of the first Nguyen Lord in Dang Trong (South Vietnam) with a mysterious legend.

  • Imperial Forbidden Citadel : The Imperial Palace in Hue is a huge complex of palaces, ramparts and audience halls which gives a great insight into the time when Vietnam had its own empire.

  • The Noon Gate, Yin & Yang Palace: Noon Gate is the main entrance leading to the Imperial City. It is one of the most valuable architectures in entire Nguyen dynasty's architecture complex.

  • Duyet Thi Duong Old Theater, Grand Ancient Temple: Duyet Thi Duong is regarded as the oldest Vietnam royal theater. Duyet Thi Duong was constructed in Hue Imperial City under the order of Minh Mang Emperor. The architecture has been already restored and opened to visitors recently.

  • Longevity Palace:Translated as the "Palace of Longevity", the Truong Sanh Palace was the residence of King Tu Duc’s mother, Empress Tu Du, under the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century. It lies in Tu Cam Thanh, one of the two major parts of the Hue Citadel

  • The Nine Dynastic Urns: is one of the most outstanding artworks in tangible cultural treasures of Hue Citadel. The impressive aesthetic characteristics and the high technical qualifications have turned it into one of appealing tourist attractions in Hue.
  • Hien Lam Cac Pavilion: (Pavilion of Everlasting Clarity) was built in 1821-22 in memory of the mandarins who served the Nguyen dynasty. With13m in height, this is the tallest building in the citadel.

  •  Lunch with Hue traditional cuisines.

  •  Tu Duc Tomb: constructed between 1864 and 1867, is the most popular and impressive of the royal mausoleums. Emperor Tu Duc designed it himself to use before and after his death. The enormous expense of the tomb and the forced labour used in its construction spawned a coup plot that was discovered and suppressed.

  •  Khai Dinh Tomb: Khai Dinh was the penultimate emperor of Vietnam, from 1916 to 1925, and widely seen as a puppet of the French. The construction of his flamboyant tomb took 11 years. Most of the tomb’s grandiose exterior is covered in blackened concrete, creating an unexpectedly Gothic air, while the interiors resemble an explosion of colourful mosaic.
