Tam Chuc Pagoda
Tam Chuc is a special religious complex with an impressive landscape. The facade of the complex is located near the lake, next to the mountain. The entire complex has a total area of about 5,000 hectares, of which Tam Chuc Pagoda occupies 144 hectares, making it the largest pagoda in terms of area on earth.
The legend says that 7 fairies from heaven went to Tam Chuc mountain area to roam the earth. The scenery was so beautiful that they forgot to return home even though the God of Heaven was ringing 6 bells for them. Therefore, you can find out that the 6 islets in the lake in front of Tam Chuc pagoda symbolize the 6 bells, and the 7 mountains behind the pagoda symbolize the seven fairies.
Sutra garden. There are 99 stone columns engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Each pole weighs about 200 tons and is 13.5 meters high.
Three black bronze Buddha statues are installed in Dien Tam. Three colossal Buddha statues represent the past, present and future. Each of these statues weighs about 80 tons and is decorated with a gilded Bodhi leaf on the back.
Perfume Pagoda (Huong Pagoda)
An extensive complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built in the limestone mountains of Huong Tich in Hanoi. It is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in the country and hosts a major festival. Millions of Vietnamese go to pray to a giant stalagmite, symbolizing the lingam. According to legend, it bestows fertility.
The temples that make up the Huong Pagoda complex are distributed among the hills in the forest on the Huong Mountains:
Den Trinh - If you go to the Huong Pagoda along the Day River, then the first building of the complex will be the Den Trinh Pagoda, built to worship the commanders of Hung kings.
Giai Oan - On the road from Thienchu to Huong Tich Cave is the temple of Giai Oan.
Thien Tru - Behind Den Trinh are Thien Tru Pagoda (heavenly kitchen) and the brick stupa of Vienkongbao, in which the leader of the restoration of the pagoda, Vien Quang, is buried.
The center of the complex is a pagoda called the "inner temple" (chua Trong), located in the Huong Tich cave. There are many statues inside the cave, including statues of Buddha and Quan Am made of green stone, and statues of arhats. The left leg of the Quan Am statue is stretched out, the foot rests on a lotus flower, the right leg is bent, it is supported by another lotus flower.
