Day 1. Borobudur and Prambanan - the largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia
8:00 - Check out from the hotel.
Prambanan Temple
A complex of Hindu temples (candi) located in the central part of Java, 18 km east of Yogyakarta. The temple was built at the beginning of the 10th century by the ruler of the state of Mataram. In 1991, the complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The most popular part of the Prambanan complex among tourists is the one where the grandiose structures of "Loro Jonggrang" are located, which in the language of the inhabitants of the island of Java means "Slender Maiden" - this is the nickname of the statue of the goddess Durga in the main sanctuary.
14:30 Borobudur Temple
Borobudur is a temple complex (candi) of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition and a Buddhist stupa of the same name in it. Borobudur was built between 750 and 850 by the rulers of the Mataram state.
Borobudur was built as a huge stupa, made in the form of a mandala. The stupa's foundation is square, with a side of 118 m. The stupa has eight tiers: the lower five are square, and the upper three are round.
Return to the hotel
Day 2. Rainbow Village and the Calling of the Genies
7:30 - Start from the hotel
Trip to the province of Pronojiwo in the Lumajang district.
Visit to Rainbow Village (Kampung Warna-Warni Village, sometimes also called "Color Village") in Malang. The village of Jodipan used to be an unremarkable impoverished settlement, but it gained popularity after locals began to paint their houses in a variety of colors.
Interesting: Also, local teenagers hold ancient games and rituals here to summon demons and genies, when one of the teenagers puts a buffalo skull on his head and a genie enters his body.
Semeru Volcano - the center of all Worlds and the drink of immortality
Next, we will visit the observation deck with a view of the legendary Semeru volcano. The top of this active volcano, as Hindus believe, is not only the center of our Universe, but also the intersection of all Universes and Worlds.
Long ago, Gods and Demons met here and worked together for the only time, encircling the mountain with a giant world serpent for the so-called churning of the ocean and obtaining Amrita - the drink of the gods and the elixir of eternal life, granting immortality.
Day 3. Tumpak Sewu - the most beautiful waterfall in Indonesia
Visiting the multi-level Tumpak Sewu waterfall. This is the most spectacular waterfall on the island of Java.
Its height is 120 meters. The name "Tumpak Sewu" is translated as "A Thousand Waterfalls", because there is not one waterfall, but many streams resembling a curtain that break off from the rocks.
This is a great place for mind-blowing photos.
Visit to Kapas Biru Waterfall.
This is a huge waterfall set against an orange rock wall, surrounded by prehistoric jungle and giant bamboo trees. It is a terraced two-tier waterfall with a total height of over 100 meters.
Transfer to Bromo Volcano. Overnight stay at a hotel near the volcano.
Day 4. Active Bromo Volcano and the Sandy Volcanic "Sea"
Departure at 3:00 to meet the sunrise at the observation deck overlooking Bromo and Semeru volcanoes.
After that, we will have to cross the Black Desert of volcanic ash, or, as it is also called, the Sand Sea. Photo session in jeeps. Get impressions that will stay with you for a lifetime.
The final few hundred meters of the desert will need to be walked (there is an option to rent horses). Having climbed the steps to the very edge of the crater, we will be able to look directly into the mouth of the active Bromo volcano (Gunung Bromo). The diameter of the volcano's crater is about 600 meters. The absolute height is 2329 meters.
Tip: prepare a blindfold, scarf and glasses in advance, which can cover your eyes, nose and mouth. The wind raises clouds of fine gray ash, which cuts the eyes and gets into the nose and lungs. Also, at the edge of the volcano there is a very sharp sulfur smell. A respirator is not necessary, but you can take it, it will be more comfortable to stand on the edge in it.
Return to the hotel
10:00 - check out of the hotel. Transfer to the city of Banyuwangi
Day 5. Mystical Forest and a hotel with an infinity pool and terraces
Mystical forest De Javatan
Free time in a hotel with an infinity pool overlooking the volcano and rice terraces.
Banyuwangi is a small town on the eastern edge of the island of Java. First of all, it is known as a transit point between the island of Java and Bali, since it is from here that the ferry departs, connecting the two islands. In the city itself you can visit the local museum and even relax on one of the local beaches.
Day 6. Ijen Volcano - blue flame and the largest acid lake in the world
Start at 2:00 (ascent time 3-4 hours)
Note: early rise is necessary to be able to see the blue sulfur flame and meet the sunrise at the top.
If blue lights and sunrise are not important for you, you can sleep in and start the ascent later.
Ijen Volcano Crater (Kawah Ijen):
Ijen is an active volcano. The diameter of the crater is over 1000 meters, the depth is 200 meters. The absolute height is 2803 meters.
In the caldera there is a sulfur lake Kawah Ijen, the water in the lake has a turquoise hue.
