Also don’t miss Richmond Castle, built in 1896 originally for wealthy local governor. It is a 42- acre fruit garden with the mix architecture of British and Indian styles rich in elaborate carvings. Calido beach, the thin strip running between Kalu River and the Indian Ocean, is the perfect choice for escaping from bustling city life. If you are looking for the river safaris, Kalutara sitting on the mouth of the Kalu Ganga estuary is an ideal place for you.
